Terms of Service
Last updated 2 September 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Fancia. They cover what you can expect from us, what we expect from you, and what happens if something goes wrong. Please read them.
1.Who we are and what these terms cover
Fancia is operated by Fancify Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under number 17234196, whose registered office is at Flat 20 Russell Court, Strasburg Road, London, England, SW11 5HZ. In these terms "we", "us" and "Fancia" mean that company, and "you" means you as a member.
These terms apply to the website at https://fancia.co.uk and to the Fancia apps for Android and iOS. By creating an account or using Fancia you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Fancia.
Our Privacy Policy at https://fancia.co.uk/privacy explains how we handle your personal information and forms part of these terms.
2.Who can use Fancia
- You must be at least 18 years old. Fancia is an adults-only service and there are no exceptions.
- You must be capable of entering into a binding contract, and not barred from using the service under the laws that apply to you.
- You must not have been removed from Fancia before.
- You may hold one account only, and it is for your personal use rather than a business's.
If we have good reason to believe you are under 18 we will close your account and delete your information.
3.Your account
- Give accurate details and keep them up to date. Do not pretend to be somebody else, and do not use photos that are not of you as your profile photo.
- Keep your password to yourself, and use one you do not use anywhere else. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Tell us promptly if you think somebody else has got into your account.
- Do not sell, rent or transfer your account to anybody else.
4.What Fancia is, and what it is not
Fancia is a place to find events, join interest groups and meet people. We provide the platform. We are not the organiser of events listed by members, we do not run the venues, and we are not a party to any arrangement you make with another member.
We do not carry out background checks, identity checks or criminal record checks on members. We do not verify that what members say about themselves is true. Please use your judgement, and read the safety section below before meeting anyone.
Paid event tickets and paid venue slots are charged through Fancia's payment provider and paid out to the host. The Payments section below explains how that works. Free reservations do not involve a card payment.
5.How to behave
Fancia only works if people treat each other decently. You agree not to do any of the following:
- Harass, bully, threaten, stalk or intimidate anybody, or encourage others to do so.
- Post anything hateful or discriminatory, including on the grounds of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or age.
- Post sexually explicit or pornographic material, or anything involving nudity of a kind you would not show a stranger in public.
- Post anything involving children in a sexual or exploitative way. We report this to the authorities without warning.
- Post anything violent, gory, or that promotes self-harm, suicide, eating disorders or illegal drug use.
- Impersonate anybody, or misrepresent who you are or who you are connected with.
- Share anybody else's private information, including their address, phone number, workplace, photographs or messages, without their permission.
- Use Fancia for commercial promotion, advertising, spam, pyramid schemes, cryptocurrency promotion or recruitment, unless we have agreed to it in writing.
- Solicit money from other members, or attempt any kind of scam, catfishing or romance fraud.
- Offer or solicit sexual services for payment.
- Post anything that is illegal, or that infringes somebody else's copyright, trade mark or other rights.
- Try to break, overload or get around the security of Fancia, scrape or harvest member information, use bots or automated access, or reverse engineer the apps.
- Create accounts in bulk, or come back with a new account after we have removed you.
This list is not exhaustive. If something is obviously unpleasant or dishonest, take it as covered.
6.Your content
You keep ownership of everything you post. You are responsible for it, and you confirm that you have the right to post it and that it does not break these terms.
So that we can actually run the service, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, resize and display your content, and to show it to the members you have shared it with. This licence exists only so that we can operate, improve and promote Fancia within the app itself, and it ends when you delete the content or your account, except that copies may remain in backups for a short period and content others have shared or replied to may remain visible in the way described in our Privacy Policy.
We do not claim ownership of your photos, we do not use them in external advertising, and we do not sell them.
We may remove content that breaks these terms, and we may do so without warning where the content is seriously harmful.
7.Reporting problems, and what we do about them
If you see something that breaks these terms, or somebody behaves badly towards you, report it to us at support@fancia.co.uk with as much detail as you can, including who and where. We review reports and act on them.
Depending on what we find, we may warn you, remove content, limit what your account can do, suspend it, or close it permanently. For serious matters, and particularly anything involving children, threats of violence or fraud, we will close the account immediately and may pass information to the police.
If we take action against your account and you think we have it wrong, reply to us at support@fancia.co.uk and a person will look at it again.
8.Meeting people safely
You are meeting strangers from the internet. Please take the same care you would in any other part of life:
- Meet in a public place the first time, and stay in public.
- Tell a friend or family member where you are going and who you are meeting.
- Make your own way there and back, and keep your phone charged.
- Never send money to somebody you have met online, however plausible the reason. Requests for money are the clearest sign of a scam.
- Do not share your home address, financial details or identity documents.
- Trust your instincts and leave if you are uncomfortable. You do not owe anybody an explanation.
If you are in immediate danger, call 999. If you have been the victim of a crime, report it to the police, and tell us too so that we can remove the person from Fancia.
9.Events, bookings and groups
- If you list an event, the details you give must be accurate, you must have the right to hold it at the place you name, and you are responsible for running it lawfully and safely.
- If you book onto an event, do not book places you do not intend to use. For free events you can cancel your reservation in the app. For paid tickets, follow the Payments section.
- If you book a venue slot, treat the listing as a real booking with the venue host. Free slots can usually be withdrawn in the app; paid slots follow the Payments section.
- Organisers may accept or decline requests to attend, and may remove attendees from their event.
- Events can be changed or cancelled by their organiser. We are not responsible for that, or for anything that happens at an event.
- Interest group and venue administrators can set their own house rules, so long as those rules do not conflict with these terms.
We may remove any event, group or venue listing that breaks these terms or that we reasonably believe is unsafe or misleading.
10.Payments for event tickets and venue bookings
This section covers money that moves through Fancia when you buy a paid event ticket or pay for a paid venue booking slot, and when hosts receive related payouts. Fancia Premium subscriptions are covered separately in the Fancia Premium section below.
Card payments are processed by Stripe. When you buy a paid event ticket or a paid venue slot, you pay on Stripe Checkout. The money is collected for the host, who must have completed payouts setup in Fancia before they can sell. Fancia is the platform that arranges the payment; the host (event organiser or venue) is the seller of the ticket or slot. Stripe's terms also apply to the card payment itself.
Event tickets
- Free event reservations do not charge your card. You can cancel a free reservation yourself in Fancia while it is still active.
- Paid event tickets stay pending until you complete checkout. Completing payment confirms you agree to pay the listed price for that ticket tier.
- If the host requires approval, payment may still need host confirmation after you pay. If the host declines a paid reservation, we aim to refund the card payment through Stripe.
- Paid tickets may open to Fancia Premium members first for a short early-access window after the event is published.
- Hosts set ticket prices and capacities. Minimum card amounts are set by Stripe. Fancia does not set the host's price.
- You cannot cancel a paid reservation yourself in the app after payment. Contact the host and, if needed, support@fancia.co.uk if something goes wrong.
Venue bookings
- Free venue slots do not charge your card. You can usually withdraw a free booking request in Fancia while it is still open.
- Paid venue slots follow the same payment pattern as paid tickets: you pay through Stripe Checkout for the listed slot or area price.
- The venue host receives the payout once their payouts account is ready. Fancia does not hold the booking fee as the seller of the slot.
- Hosts set slot and area prices. If a paid booking is declined after payment, we aim to refund through Stripe where the payment has completed.
- If you need help with a paid venue booking after checkout, contact the venue host first, then support@fancia.co.uk.
Currency is shown at checkout (usually pounds sterling for UK hosts).
By choosing Get tickets, Request tickets, Book slot, Pay, Pay now, or completing Stripe Checkout for an event ticket or venue booking, you agree to this Payments section and the rest of these terms. If you do not agree, do not complete the booking or payment.
Nothing in this section takes away rights you have as a consumer under UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
12.Changes to Fancia, and availability
We are actively developing Fancia, so features will change, and some will be added or withdrawn. We will not make a change that significantly reduces what you have paid for without telling you first and giving you the chance to cancel.
We try to keep Fancia available but we cannot promise it will never be down. We may suspend it for maintenance, and will give notice where we reasonably can.
13.Ending this agreement
You can stop using Fancia and delete your account whenever you like, from Settings on the website or in either app. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what deletion does to your information.
We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably believe your account is being used to harm somebody. Except where the matter is serious or urgent, we will tell you why and give you the chance to respond. We may also close accounts that have been inactive for more than two years, after warning you by email.
If we close your account for breaking these terms, we do not refund any unused part of a subscription.
14.Our responsibility to you
We will provide Fancia with reasonable care and skill. If we fail to do that, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Subject to that, we are not responsible for:
- What other members say, post or do, whether on Fancia or when you meet them.
- Events, venues and groups run by members, or anything that happens at them.
- Loss or damage that was not foreseeable when you started using Fancia.
- Business losses, since Fancia is for personal use.
Where we are liable, and to the extent the law allows us to limit it, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the problem arose, or £100.
15.Our intellectual property
The Fancia name, logo, software, design and content belong to us or our licensors. You may use them only as part of using Fancia normally. You may not copy, adapt or reuse them, or use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you, without our written permission.
16.Other companies' services
Fancia relies on services from other companies, including Stream Chat for messaging, Google Maps for addresses and maps, Stripe for card payments and payouts, and Apple and Google for app distribution and in-app Premium purchases. Their own terms apply to their part of what you are using, and we are not responsible for their services.
17.If you use the iOS app
These terms are between you and Fancia, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for Fancia or its content. The licence to use the app is limited to Apple devices you own or control, as set out in Apple's App Store Terms of Service.
- Fancia, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app, its content, and any maintenance and support. Apple has no obligation to provide support for it.
- If the app fails to conform to any warranty that cannot be disclaimed, you may tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. Apple has no other warranty obligation, and any other claim is our responsibility.
- Fancia, not Apple, is responsible for dealing with any claim that the app or your use of it infringes somebody's intellectual property, and for any claim about product liability, legal compliance or consumer protection.
- You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this section and may enforce it against you.
If you need help with the app, contact us at support@fancia.co.uk.
18.Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example to reflect new features or a change in the law. If a change affects your rights in a significant way, we will tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before it takes effect, unless the change is needed sooner for legal or safety reasons. If you do not accept a change, you can delete your account. Continuing to use Fancia after a change takes effect means you accept it.
19.Complaints, law and where disputes are heard
If you are unhappy with anything, email support@fancia.co.uk first and we will try to sort it out. Most things can be resolved quickly this way.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Court proceedings must be brought in the courts of England and Wales, except that if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in the courts there, and the law of the place you live may give you rights that these terms cannot take away.
20.General
- These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Fancia.
- If a court decides any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a term straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
- We may transfer this agreement to another company if Fancia is sold or reorganised. Your rights will not be reduced, and we will tell you if it happens.
- Nobody other than you and us can enforce these terms, apart from Apple where the iOS section says so.
